It is a stunning afternoon here at School. The School site looks beautiful today, bathed in sunshine with hardly a cloud in the sky. Sunrises and sunsets have also been breath taking; I wonder how many more days we can have like this as the winter progresses.

Indoor Hockey Success

Over the Christmas break, several of our pupils competed at the Indoor Hockey UK Championships. This is a tournament ran independently of England Hockey, aiming to give more athletes a taste of Indoor Hockey, in a highly competitive environment.

On 23rd March, Year 3 went to Herstmonceux Observatory and Science Centre. Whilst there, they were blessed with pleasant weather that allowed them to explore the outdoor discovery parks as well as the indoor hands-on exhibits.

CCF taster day hits the target

On Friday last week, Year 5 marched over to SVS and enjoyed a well-drilled afternoon of fun, organised by the Officers and NCOs of the CCF. After a delicious lunch in the refectory, the children paraded, despite the rain, where they paid attention and were put at ease by Major Prem.

Despite Mrs Dallamore being unwell, the consummate performing professionals of Year 6 pulled together to deliver numerous rousing renditions of the end of term play 'Let Loose'. The story follows a group of Sutton Valence Prep School students as they take a week long residential trip, and the antics they get up to as they take part in a boating competition and plot to pull off the perfect midnight feast!

Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes

Roars of laughter filled the classroom this week as Y6 learned to read, listen and respond to vocabulary about parts of the body. They used their Super Hoot Learning Powers of Observation, Bravery and Collaboration to rehearse the body parts, before learning the ordinarily simple song of ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’, only this time, they were challenged to learn it in Spanish!
