Nursery Entry 2+
Our Nursery is available for children between the ages of two and four. Children as young as two are invited to join our Little Steps sessions, the entry point for our youngest pupils. Admission into Little Steps is open year-round, subject to available places. Children who turn three can join Young Climbers, the year before Reception. They can join us at any point during the school year subject to availability.
Once you have decided that Sutton Valence School is the perfect Nursery for your child, the next steps are easy.
Sessions
Depending on availability, you will need to choose which session times suit you and your child best. This could be part-time (mornings or afternoons) or full days. There is a requirement for your child to attend a minimum of three sessions a week, as we find this is most beneficial for our children.
A typical day is filled with learning through play. Children take part in early phonics, fine motor development, numeracy, creative arts, cooking, music and imaginative play, all guided by caring and experienced teachers.
Early Mornings
If you are returning to work, or require longer hours for your child, you can choose to include our Early Risers breakfast club from 7.30am.
Curious Mornings
Children may explore art and design experimenting with colour form and texture as they express their ideas freely. Specialist French sessions introduce language through songs stories and movement helping children enjoy rhythm and sound in a new way.
Our outdoor learning environment provides even more opportunity to explore and grow. Ride-on toys climbing cubes, the sandpit, mud kitchen, water play and a playhouse, allow children to move, imagine and create in a space that is safe stimulating and full of possibility.
Enriching Afternoons
As children grow more confident, many choose to stay longer and continue their adventures into the afternoon. We offer a rich programme of optional sessions that extend learning in engaging and imaginative ways, perfect for curious minds and busy hands.
