Welcome

The information on this page relates specifically to entry to our Lower Sixth (Year 12). For information on other entry points, please refer to our First Form (Year 7) page or Third Form (Year 9) page. If you are interested in your son or daughter applying for one our other year groups, namely our Second Form (Year 8), Fourth Form (Year 10) or Fifth Form (Year 11), please get in touch with the Admissions Office to confirm availability of spaces in those respective year groups.

Registration Process

In order to register your child for a place in our Lower Sixth, we would ask that prospective parents complete our Online Registration Form, as well as making payment of a non-refundable registration fee of £100.00. There is no closing date for applications to our Lower Sixth, but if you are applying after the start of the Summer Term prior to entry, we would advise that you first contact the Admissions Office to confirm the availability of places. Please also note that if you are applying for a scholarship, your child will need to be registered with the School in advance of completing the scholarship application form. As the scholarship assessments take place in January, we would request that you register your child prior to that date.

Entry Requirements

Pupils wishing to join our Lower Sixth are expected to achieve at least 32 points across six GCSE subjects. From the Lent Term, we will begin to apply to every applicant’s current school for a reference on academic and social progress, together with mock/predicted GCSE grades. We hope to then be able to make a conditional offer of a place. To be able to confirm the offer, we will require a copy of the actual GCSE results when published in August, prior to September entry.

Selecting A Level Subjects

Ordinarily, our Sixth Form pupils study three A Level subjects although Further Mathematics can be selected as a fourth A Level, where applicable. Until the A Level options blocks are created for our Lower Sixth, we are unable to guarantee a combination of subjects for study but, as soon as this is available, we will request that you indicate your child’s subject choices for study. If at a later date, or upon receipt of the GCSE results, your child wishes to change the subjects, this may be possible as long as the choice fits the option blocks.

Scholarships

The School offers a range of scholarships to pupils joining our Lower Sixth. As listed below, each scholarship has its own criteria and method of assessment. Scholarships are assessed during the Lent Term of Year 11. To apply for a scholarship, please complete our Scholarship Application Form.
