Nursery fees are session based and vary according to the pattern of attendance that families choose. Full details of our Nursery fees and session options can be found on our dedicated Nursery Fees page.

All fees below include compulsory, non-deductible VAT items and lunch.

The standard school fees typically include:

• Core tuition and teaching
• Access to the curriculum and timetabled academic lessons
• Use of the school’s facilities and resources during the school day
• Lunch (where specified as part of the fee structure)
• Personal accident insurance for pupils

Boarding fees (where applicable) also include:

• Accommodation and meals (e.g. breakfast, supper and snacks)
• Laundry and pastoral care within the boarding environment

The following are not included in the standard fees and are charged in addition:

• Examination fees
• Educational trips and visits (especially residential trips)
• Transport and travel costs
• Uniform, sports kit and personal equipment
• Specialist materials (where applicable)
• Additional lessons, such as:
  – Learning support
  – Music tuition
  These additional costs are normally invoiced separately at the end of each term.

There may be a number of additional or one-off fees, including:

• Registration fee (non-refundable)
• Joining deposit (held and deducted from the final bill)
• Charges for:
  – Boarding options (full, part-time, occasional)
  – Breakfast and tea clubs
  – Optional insurance (e.g. school fees protection)

Late payment charges may also apply, and a full term’s notice is required if a pupil is withdrawn.

Extra tuition is available where additional academic or learning support is required.
Charged at approximately £64 per hour (plus VAT)

May include:

• Learning support
• Subject-specific support

These lessons are optional and charged in addition to standard school fees.

Music lessons are offered as an optional extra:

• Typically charged as a block (e.g. 10 lessons per term)
• Approximate cost: £302 per block (plus VAT)
• Music tuition may cover:
  – Individual instrumental or vocal lessons
  – Preparation for music examinations

As with extra tuition, music lessons are not included in the basic fees and are billed separately.

This is a one-off administrative charge applicable to international pupils who require a visa to study in the UK.

• The fee covers the preparation and issuance of a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), which is required as part of the UK student visa application process
• It includes the administration and compliance checks carried out by the School in line with Home Office requirements
  Current fee: £368 (plus VAT)

This fee is not included in the standard tuition fees and is charged separately where applicable.

Details of the Composition Fees Scheme, whereby savings can be achieved by payment of a lump sum in advance, are available from the Bursary (bursary@svs.org.uk).

A discount of 20 per cent will be deducted from the youngest child’s tuition fees when there are three or more children in the Senior School, Prep School or Nursery at the same time. The registration fee is non-refundable, however, the joining deposit paid will be refunded against a pupil’s final invoice. We require a full term’s notice if you wish to withdraw your child from School or change their status from boarding to day student, otherwise a term’s fees in lieu of notice will be charged. Once your child has been formally entered and accepted for admission into the School the deposit paid will not be refunded if you subsequently withdraw your child before the start of term or during the term and you will be required to pay for the full term.

All pupils are included in the HSBC Personal Accident Insurance Scheme. However, this does not cover illness. As fees are non-refundable you may wish to consider purchasing School Fees Protection Insurance or BUPA cover, and further details are available from the Bursary. We recommend you check whether your household insurance covers personal effects as the School’s insurance does not cover these.
