Film Competition

As part of our multimedia topic in ICT, Year 6 have been planning what films they are going to make when they enter into a Film competition for ChildNet International, who are a non-profit organisation working with others to help make the Internet a great and safe place for children.

This year’s theme is ‘We want an internet where we’re free to…’ and the children have been working together in teams to create a one minute video to teach us about how to be free to use the internet, in any capacity, safely. First, they had to think of an area of the internet they want to use as part of this theme and build their video around this. Some examples were ‘free to socialise’, ‘free to game’, ‘free to learn’, ‘free to create’.

Next they planned out the resources they will need to film, they drew their storyboards for each scene and are now writing their scripts. The children have stretched themselves with some of their ideas and there are some very ambitious projects planned. They are determined to win! Watch this space for their videos, which they will be starting in the next few weeks.
