Eve G (Year 6) and new team member Albert S (Year 5) competed in the Grass Roots Show Jumping competition over Christmas against other schools. Both of them did really well to be placed in the 50-centimetre class with Albert individually coming second and Eve coming individually sixth. Unfortunately, we did not have enough for a Grass Roots team at this competition but, as both of them were individually placed, they have Qualified for Regional Championships and for the Grass Roots National Championships at Hickstead in the Summer, which is such great achievement for both of them.

Isla D (Year 6) and Amelia P (Year 5) were also out competing at a Show Jumping competition in Staplehurst, with the senior team having stepped up from Grass Roots level last year. The 75-centimetre team Gold was won by Amelia, Isla D, Harriet Plummer (SVS Second Form) and Imogen Trott (SVS Fifth Form). Harriet also came first individually followed by Amelia in second, and Imogen in fifth.

In the 85- centimetre, we had two teams competing. The winning team was made up of Amelia, Harriet and George Stanley (SVS Third Form). Individually, Harriet also achieved first place again and George came fifth. Well done also to Isla, Imogen and Erin Smith (Fourth Form), who competed in the other 85-centimetre team but unfortunately were not in the placings despite a great effort.

Isla and Amelia join the senior team again this Sunday, further afield in Sussex competing in Arena Eventing Competition, good luck girls!
