Headmaster’s Headlines – 01.07.2022

Senior School
1 Jul 22

We are certainly in full swing with all the end of year events. Last night was particularly poignant as the Upper Sixth had their Leavers’ Service in the Chapel followed by a lovely and very civilised dinner in the Refectory. As I have said before, they have been an exceptional year group who have faced great challenges. It was a lovely opportunity to both reflect and look forward as well as thanking them and their parents for their contributions over the years.

Sports Day, which took place this afternoon, was blessed with sunshine and a nice light breeze, and in a moment I will be heading down into the village to see our Art and Design and Technology exhibitions. Speech Day tomorrow promises to be a lovely occasion with plenty of opportunity to see the School looking beautiful and also to see and hear students at their artistic, musical, creative and physical best.

I look forward to sharing some great memories from this extraordinary year before the prize giving and then lunch on Prefects’ Lawn. The Summer Ball will also, I am sure, be a lovely evening.

The schedule for next week with the ‘LWOST’ programme looks terrific and I am sure students will have a great deal of fun.

Best wishes for the weekend and the last week of term ahead!

Mr James Thomas, Headmaster
