The bowlers then backed this up with a disciplined performance, restricting Invicta Grammar to 47 for 2 to secure a well-deserved win.
In the second game against Highworth Grammar, SVS again showed resilience and commitment. SVS scored 53 for 3, but despite a determined bowling effort, Highworth Grammar reached 77 for 2, resulting in a narrow loss. The girls remained positive and focused, showing excellent sportsmanship and determination.
SVS finished the day on a high with an outstanding performance against Sir Roger Manwood’s. The team produced their strongest batting display of the tournament, scoring an impressive 75 without loss. This was followed by another excellent bowling performance, limiting Sir Roger Manwood’s to 44 for 3 and sealing a convincing victory.
At the end of the tournament, SVS finished joint first on results, but placed third overall due to the total runs scored across the day. This was a fantastic achievement in a competitive field and reflected the high standard of cricket played by the team. Overall, it was an extremely successful and enjoyable day of cricket. All the girls bowled and batted brilliantly, supported each other throughout and represented the school with pride, enthusiasm and excellent spirit.
