With no swimming allowed, PE this term took a slightly different route to our previous Michaelmas terms. We have been very lucky with the weather, so we spent a lot of time on the field doing Athletics, including Javelin, Shot, Sprinting, Relays, Long Jump and Ball Throw.

After a few weeks, we moved onto the Astroturf and Tennis courts. Tennis again was missed in the Summer term, so it was great to give the pupils the opportunity to develop their game. Whenever the weather was wet, we moved into Bates Hall for lots of fun team games.

In Pre-Prep, we have had to be especially mindful of not sharing the equipment from the cupboard between bubbles and so have focused on using lots of different sized balls to improve our throwing, catching, bouncing and hitting skills. In Nursery and Reception, we have focused on following instructions, running/movement games and developing our body control and spatial awareness.

It has been super to welcome so many new and old faces back into the Bates Hall having spent the last term completing PE from our homes. The enthusiasm from every year group has been wonderful and I look forward to teaching them all throughout the year.
