Wellbeing Tip of the Week

As we come to the end of the School year, it has been wonderful to see pupils enjoying the final week of activities and strengthening friendships. The sense of community and connection has been a real highlight and it has been a pleasure to watch them finish the term on such a positive note.

While the summer holidays provide a well-earned opportunity to rest and recharge, we know that a long break can sometimes feel challenging for young people without having the structure of the school day. This week, we have been reminding pupils about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing and encouraging them to use these as simple, practical ways to support their wellbeing over the holidays:

  • Connect – Spend time with family and friends and keep in touch with people who make you feel supported.
  • Be Active – Find enjoyable ways to move your body, whether that’s playing sport, walking, swimming or simply getting outdoors.
  • Take Notice – Slow down, appreciate the little things and enjoy the moments that make summer special.
  • Keep Learning – Try something new, explore a hobby, read a book or develop a new skill.
  • Give – Small acts of kindness can have a positive impact on both ourselves and those around us.

We hope these simple reminders encourage pupils to continue doing the things that help keep their wellbeing ‘topped up’ and to stay connected with friends throughout the break.

For pupils who feel anxious about returning to school after the holidays, it can be helpful to gradually reintroduce routines towards the end of the summer, maintain regular sleep patterns, talk openly about any worries and focus on the aspects of school they are looking forward to. If your child finds transitions particularly difficult, please do not hesitate to contact us when term begins so that we can support them.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for a new term.
