Wellbeing Tip of the Week

This week we held our annual Wellbeing Festival, focused on the Five Ways to Wellbeing: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give. The event was led by our Wellbeing Ambassadors, who approached the day with impressive organisation and enthusiasm.

With support from across the school, the Day Rooms were transformed to reflect each of the themes. The ambassadors ran activities for different year groups, encouraging pupils to think about how small, intentional actions can strengthen their mental health. A key message throughout the day was that wellbeing is something we can actively maintain. When we are deliberate about looking our mental health, we are better prepared to manage challenges when they arise.

The activities will continue into next week, with a pupil led “Capture the Flag” event taking place over two lunchtimes. We are hoping it will provide another opportunity for connection and healthy competition.

Eating Disorders Awareness Week

This week’s focus on the Wellbeing Hub is raising awareness of eating difficulties and how to access support.

The resource pack available on the teen tips website (which parents have access to as part of the school subscription) includes:

  • Guidance for educators and parents
  • Support pathways for young people and families
  • Links to reputable organisations and helplines

I have also published an article on the Wellbeing Hub outlining how we support young people experiencing eating challenges within our school community.
