Our AWE wellbeing survey has provided a valuable snapshot of how pupils are feeling across the School. Our First Form continue to show strong levels of happiness, resilience and connection and it is encouraging to see our Upper Sixth pupils reporting similarly positive feelings as they prepare for life beyond Sutton Valence, particularly around staff support and their confidence in overcoming challenges. We also noted that, as is typical in adolescence, pupils in the Third to Fifth Form reported lower satisfaction with sleep. In response, upcoming wellbeing lessons will focus more closely on sleep health and practical strategies to support rest and recovery. This is also a useful area for parenting conversations, such as exploring bedtime routines, reducing late-night screen use and helping young people balance academic and social commitments.
As we draw to the end of our current topics in wellbeing, next week’s newsletter will outline what pupils will be learning next term, along with ways you can continue supporting these themes at home.
