How do you say a Christmas greeting in Afrikaans or Nepali?  In which decade was the first Christmas card sent in the UK?  These are questions that have featured in our Library Christmas quizzes this year.

We have held three competitions and are delighted to announce the winners, who have all received prizes, as follows:

The winners of the Christmas quiz are: Elyse Ratcliffe, Mariana Mason and Joseph McDermott.

The winners of the Christmas greeting language quiz are: Simone Rai, Stephanie Rees-Emsley and Estelle McInerney with runners up: Pablo de Bartolome, Justin Tang, Harry Zhong and Anna Yang.

There were 38 winners of the Elf on the Shelf competition, including two staff members.  Winners had to successfully find the names of all 20 elves hiding in the Library to go into the winners’ draw.  The prize, of course, was an elf each.

Congratulations to all our winners.  The Library staff wish everyone Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noel, Merikurisumasu and Een Plesierige Kerfees.
