On Saturday 17th January, SVS took nine pupils to the Kent Regional Cross Country Championships. All pupils demonstrated discipline, endeavour and a high standard of performance throughout the event.
In the First Form Boys’ race, Matthew A had a strong run and secured sixth overall, closely followed by Theo L, who came in 10th place out of 106 boys.
In the First Form Girls’ event, Ciara C competed to achieve a respectable 22nd place finish out of 75 girls. Strong performances continued in the intermediate races. Bella S (Second Form) placed 19th out of 91 runners in the Inter Girls’ competition. A standout performance came in the Inter Boys’ race, where Guy B (Third Form) delivered an outstanding run to claim 1st place out of 120 boys, becoming Kent Regional Champion in his category and running a 10:43 3.3km
A special mention must go to Max J (Second Form), who competed against older athletes and ran his fastest kilometre to date and achieved a personal best time, completing the 3.3km course in under 13 minutes. Overall, the event was a great success for the School, with pupils representing themselves and the School with pride.
