Head’s Lines – 25.11.22

Senior School

Another wonderful, wild and wet week has finished today with a glorious Open Morning for prospective parents, ably hosted by our Head Boy, Elliott E, and Head Girl, Alice W, as well as by our fabulous Year 6 Prefects. We are, of course, drawing closer to various decision points for parents as they consider Nursery, Reception and Year 7 options for their children in September 2023. If any parents would like to discuss these options for their children, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Mrs Leckie to arrange an appointment.

This time last week, the Parents’ Consultation Group (PCG) met for the first time, with matters under discussion ranging from the driveway in the morning to match teas; we look forward to sharing the minutes with all parents and letting you know who to contact, should you wish to contribute to the agenda at our future meetings. Parents of children in Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a coffee morning earlier this week too, and last night saw a Nursery Curriculum evening for the parents of our youngest learners where they had the opportunity to try out some of the activities that the children do each day, such as mark-making and messy play!

Last Friday also saw our Year 3 and Year 4 musicians finishing our round of concerts for this term playing in front of parents, often the first concert that these children have had the opportunity at which to play. Amply demonstrating skill and bravery in equal measure, we could not have been prouder of their efforts both to practise and perform. The participation rates in music are booming too, with more than half of most year groups learning one instrument or another (although any budding flautists or oboists out there would be unique!).

With the Winter Wonderland and Advent on the horizon, there is also much to look forward to – and the Christmas hymns the children have been practising (some since October) will soon be ringing out around the School.

Have a fabulous weekend.
