The football season kicked off with two strong fixtures against Kent College. The 1st team travelled to Canterbury and started brightly, controlling much of the early play before conceding to a close range finish from a corner. Undeterred, even in heavy rain, they responded quickly with a well worked passing move that ended in a goal for Jack D (Lower Sixth). Further goals from Lucas K and Alex K (both Upper Sixth) put SVS 3–1 up at half time. The dominance continued after the break, with SVS firmly in control. Two more goals from Jack D secured his hat trick and sealed an impressive 5–1 win in challenging conditions.
Back at home, the 2nd XI faced Kent College after the original away fixture was moved due to a waterlogged pitch. They delivered another confident team performance, with goals from Frankie H (2), Ollie C, Anis R (all Lower Sixth) and Mathew B (Upper Sixth), earning a deserved 5–2 victory.
Both matches were played in an excellent spirit, with teamwork and communication standing out as clear highlights alongside the players’ strong support for one another.
