Camber Sands Field Trip

Last Friday, our Lower Sixth Biology students had a wonderful field trip to Camber Sands, to measure the biodiversity of the different habitats located there.

Holly Clark said, “We used a range of sampling techniques, including random sampling with quadrats and an interrupted line transect to show the gradual change in biodiversity along the sand dunes. We then recorded the species of plants using identification keys and measured their abundance or percentage coverage. Despite the weather, it was a very enjoyable and successful trip which allowed us to gain a deeper understanding of the ecology units we have learnt about this year.”
