On 3rd of March, the Young Enterprise group ACCE travelled to Spitalfields Market in London to take part in the Young Enterprise Spitalfields Trade Fair. The team aimed to introduce their brand to a wider audience and gain first hand experience of what a real and competitive market felt like. Their corner stall was well positioned near a busy doughnut stand, which attracted constant foot traffic and helped draw attention to their products.
A wide variety of stalls from other Young Enterprise teams surrounded them, offering products ranging from jewellery to environmentally friendly beehives. ACCE set up their trade stand with pride, displaying all of their products for customers to browse. The team were delighted by the high level of interest and their most popular tote bags sold out by early afternoon.
Each team member took on a different role throughout the day, from managing sales and restocking to engaging with visitors and seeking out new customers in shifts. The event provided valuable real world experience and an opportunity to interact with the public in a lively, authentic environment.
During the train journey to London, the team prepared handwritten positive messages, which they later shared with the public as a way of attracting visitors to their stand. This approach proved highly effective, and many members of the public enjoyed the idea so much that they wrote their own messages to be redistributed and shared as a way of spreading joy.
Throughout the day, the group were visited by several judges, some of whom attempted to observe the teams without drawing attention to themselves. ACCE aimed to impress with their professionalism before returning to the busy flow of sales. The judges later recognised the team with a shoutout for their positive social impact.
After a long and successful day, the team returned home proud of their achievements. They are now preparing for the South Kent Showcase on 17th of March and their next market at Greenwich on 18th of March.
