Last Thursday, the U13 Girls’ Cricket team represented SVS at the Indoor Eights Tournament held at Ursuline College. The girls produced an excellent set of performances throughout the day, demonstrating strong teamwork, enthusiasm and skill with both bat and ball. Every player contributed, and they should all be very proud of their efforts.
We began the tournament with a confident win against Kent College. Batting first, SVS scored 49 for 2, showing positive and controlled batting. The bowlers then delivered a disciplined performance, restricting Kent College to 45 for 3 to secure the victory.
The second match against St Edmunds was another closely contested game. We posted 46 for 2 and once again the bowlers and fielders worked hard as a team, limiting St Edmunds to 44 for 4. This ensured a second win of the day and confirmed SVS as overall tournament winners.
By winning both matches, we finished top of the group and have qualified for the finals, which will take place on Friday 27th March. This was a fantastic achievement and reflected the consistency and quality shown by the team throughout the tournament.
Overall, it was a highly successful day of cricket. All the girls bowled and batted superbly, supported one another throughout and represented the School with pride, commitment and excellent sportsmanship.
