Last Thursday, the U15 Girls’ Cricket team represented SVS at the Indoor Chance to Compete Tournament held at Ursuline College. The girls delivered an outstanding set of performances throughout the day, displaying confidence, teamwork and excellent skill with both bat and ball. Every player contributed and they should be extremely proud of their efforts.

SVS got off to a superb start in their opening match against St Lawrence College. Batting first, they posted an impressive total of 78 for 2, showing strong shot selection and composure. The bowlers followed this up with a disciplined performance, restricting St Lawrence College to 57 for 2 and securing a convincing win.

The second match against Benenden proved to be a closely fought contest. We once again batted with confidence, scoring 79 for 1 thanks to consistent and controlled batting. Excellent bowling and sharp fielding ensured Benenden were limited to 75 for 4, resulting in a hard-earned second victory for SVS.
The final game of the day against Colfe’s was an exciting and competitive encounter. We scored 80 for 4, setting a challenging target. Colfe’s matched the total with 80 for 5, resulting in a draw. However, due to SVS losing fewer wickets, the team were awarded the win, highlighting the importance of tight bowling and strong all-round performances.

SVS finished the tournament as overall winners and have now qualified for the finals, which will take place on 23rd March. This was a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of the girls’ commitment, teamwork and quality cricket throughout the day.

Overall, it was an excellent tournament for the U15 girls. They bowled and batted superbly, supported each other throughout and represented the School with pride, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship.
