Natural History Museum Trip

On Thursday, the Geography Department took 24 Fourth and Fifth Form pupils to the Natural History Museum. Pupils visited the Fixing Our Broken Planet gallery where they explored science-based solutions aimed at creating a more sustainable world and the Volcanoes and Earthquakes section which demonstrated how our planet is shaped by powerful natural forces. Both areas allowed students to connect classroom learning with real world examples and to think critically about the future of our planet.

A write-up by Aaryan H

“At the Museum we began by exploring Fixing Our Broken Planet, a section focused on sustainability and the future of our world. We looked at issues such as microplastics, climate change, water resources and how we might feed the global population in years to come. We then explored the dinosaur section where we saw some incredible models and real dinosaur bones. Finally, we visited the Red Zone which featured exhibits on earthquakes and volcanoes. While exploring Miss Cakebread, set us a photography challenge to see who could take the most creative photograph. Despite everyone’s best efforts, two standout photos were chosen as winners.

For the Fifth Form, this trip was particularly valuable as it offered extra insight and inspiration in preparation for our upcoming mock exams.”
