During the Easter holidays, a group of our adventurous pupils set off for the stunning La Thuile ski resort in the Italian Alps – and what an incredible week it turned out to be!
We were blessed with fantastic weather throughout the trip, with bright blue skies and brilliant sunshine lighting up the mountain slopes each day. The snow conditions were ideal – perfect for skiing, especially for our beginners, who quickly found their feet and gained confidence gliding down the nursery slopes. For our more experienced skiers, the wide range of pistes across La Thuile provided challenge and excitement in equal measure.
Each day was packed with skiing adventures, and it was great to see the children’s enthusiasm, resilience and growing skill on the slopes. Their laughter echoed across the mountains as they progressed through lessons, tackled new runs and celebrated their achievements together.
When the skis came off, the fun continued with some après-ski activities. One evening saw the children playing football in a spectacular sports hall nestled among the snow-capped mountains – an unforgettable setting for a game! There was also a trip to the beautiful town of Courmayeur for a spot of souvenir shopping, where pupils practised their Italian and picked out special keepsakes. Another highlight was a delicious evening at a local pizzeria, where the group tucked into traditional Italian pizzas – and even tried violet-flavoured ice cream for the very first time!
The trip was full of joy, laughter and unforgettable memories. The children showed fantastic spirit throughout, embracing every challenge and making the most of every opportunity. It was a week to remember – a brilliant blend of adventure, friendship and Alpine magic.
