Preparing for National Apprenticeships Week

Senior School
29 Jan 21

Here at SVS, we do not follow a one-size-fits-all approach when preparing our students for their future. We recognise that university is not for everyone and actively encourage our students to consider alternative routes.

Over the last fortnight, students in the Lower Sixth have been introduced to the university application process and are beginning to research potential options through the UCAS Hub and our in-house course, NextSteps, designed to assist them on their future journey.

Starting on Monday 8th February, interested members of the Sixth Form will be able to partake in the virtual National Apprenticeships Week.

Ahead of this, Mr Ellmers will be giving interested members of the Lower Sixth an introduction to apprenticeships over Zoom on Monday 1st February. This talk will outline various application processes, in addition to introducing them to key contacts.

Please encourage your child to attend the talk on Monday morning if they have an interest in pursuing an apprenticeship, are currently undecided between university or an apprenticeship, or simply if they just want to find out what an apprenticeship could offer them.

Whilst this talk is primarily aimed at the Lower Sixth, interested members of the Upper Sixth are also encouraged to attend.

Please do contact Mr Ellmers (ellmersl@svs.org.uk) if you wish to discuss this further.
