Sport for All

Sport plays a central role in Prep School life, with pupils taking part in a wide range of activities including rugby, football, hockey, netball, cricket, athletics, tennis and swimming. Our aim is simple: to give every pupil enjoyable sporting experiences at a level that suits them, while building confidence, teamwork and physical development.

Pupils take part in regular inter‑school fixtures and House Castle competitions, which provide friendly challenge and help pupils learn how to compete with purpose and respect. While participation is at the heart of what we do, we also celebrate ambition.

Coaching and support are strengthened across both School sites.Pupil Senior School Sports Leaders frequently help run sessions and mentor younger pupils, and Senior School staff contribute to training that develops fundamental skills. Excellent facilities across the Prep and Senior sites allow for a varied and engaging timetable.

Swimming is introduced from Reception onwards, with lessons in our outdoor pool and at the Senior School. Pupils who show interest can take part in Swim Squad or compete in galas, including IAPS qualifiers and relay events. Additional clubs and fun swim sessions offer more time in the water in a relaxed setting.

Our approach ensures that every pupil is active, involved and encouraged to discover what they enjoy and, when the passion is there, to take their sport further.

Opportunities include:

  • Weekly PE and Games lessons for all year groups
  • Regular fixtures in rugby, football, hockey, cricket, netball, athletics and tennis
