HIKSVS: Our Sister School
HIKSVS International School opened in 2017 as a co‑educational, English‑speaking primary school in the heart of Tianjin. It brings domestic and international pupils together in a vibrant, forward‑looking community and represents a unique collaboration between Hopeland International Kindergarten and Sutton Valence School.
HIKSVS is the first stand‑alone primary school in China to be licensed by a UK independent prep school. It brings the Sutton Valence ethos to an international setting, combining high‑quality teaching with rich cultural and educational experiences.
The School was founded under the leadership and generosity of Old Suttonian Karl Yin (2006 W), who now serves as Chair of Governors. His understanding of Sutton Valence’s values has been central to the School’s success.
The Yin family has long experience in education through their company, Hopeland International, founded in 2001. The group operates three well‑established private kindergartens in Tianjin and an associated educational farm. It is regarded as a leading provider in the sector, recognised for its facilities, scale and commitment to high‑quality provision.
Since opening its doors in 2017, HIKSVS has gone from strength to strength, with pupil numbers increasing year on year as new cohorts join. The current roll stands at 400. The School’s continued expansion reflects growing demand and the strength of its educational offer.
