Pupil Support
At Sutton Valence School, pupil wellbeing matters. We offer a range of support options so that every pupil knows where to turn, whatever they are facing. No concern is too small, and help is always available.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
Chat Room
The Chat Room, located in Lambe’s, offers a friendly space where pupils can seek information, support and guidance. Appointments to see Mrs Joanne Head, Specialist Support Teacher, can be made by emailing HeadJ@svs.org.uk.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead
Pupils can meet Mrs Trachonitis in her office in the Centre Block to talk about mental health and wellbeing. Pupils are welcome to drop in or arrange a meeting in advance by emailing needtotalk@svs.org.uk.
School Counsellor
Our School Counsellor, Sally Cloke, is on site every Tuesday. Appointments are confidential and can be arranged by emailing the Medical Centre at nurses@svs.org.uk.
Medical Centre
The Medical Centre is staffed by trained nurses who are always available to help. Pupils can drop in at any time or make an appointment by emailing nurses@svs.org.uk.
Additional Support Options
Library Resources
A self‑help booklet titled Help Yourself is available in the Library for pupils who would prefer to access support independently or are not yet ready to talk to someone.
Concerns Box
Pupils can use the anonymous Concerns button to share worries, including concerns about a friend, if speaking directly feels difficult.
Chaplain
Our Chaplain, Mr Davies, is always available for confidential and supportive conversations. Pupils can talk to him about anything, whether personal, emotional or spiritual.
Any Member of Staff
All staff understand that if a pupil asks, “Have you got ten minutes?”, it means they need time and support. Staff will always respond and arrange a suitable time to listen.
A Final Reminder
Reaching out for support is a positive step. You are never alone, and there is always someone here who wants to help.
