Year 6 Trip
Year 6 travelled to Tenterden for their very own evacuation experience, stepping back in time to discover what life was like for children during the Second World War.
Throughout the experience, pupils learnt about rationing, the black market and creative wartime cookery, including the rather unusual idea of making chocolate spread with potatoes!
They also boarded a steam train and travelled to a remote village in ‘Wales’, where they spoke to billeting officers and learnt more about the experiences of children who were evacuated away from their homes during the war.
It was a fantastic and memorable experience for Year 6, and one that is always a highlight of the year.
