The Sixth Form builds the practical knowledge pupils need for adult life.

Future Focus

Our in‑house Future Focus programme prepares pupils for life after School. Sessions focus on CV writing, interviews, decision‑making, communication, budgeting, personal finance, digital awareness, first aid and wellbeing. As a partner school with InvestIn Education, pupils also have discounted access to industry experiences in sectors such as medicine, engineering, business, law and technology.

We prepare our pupils for Higher Education from the start of the Lower Sixth through a range of internally-delivered talks by external speakers from Russell Group universities. Our connections with the University of Cardiff and the University of Sussex allow us to provide bespoke coaching on personal statement writing. Students enjoy access to a one-to-one career counselling service to assist them with course identification, university selection and application.

Pupils applying to Oxbridge, in the Medicine and Veterinary Science field or to the USA partake in a supplementary two-year preparation programme, which prepares students for wider reading, application preparation, academic enrichment and interview practice.

Life Skills

Pupils also take part in sessions on budgeting, cooking, first aid, digital safety, personal finance and wellbeing. External speakers cover topics including consent, personal safety, fraud awareness and road safety. These sessions complement the wider PSHE curriculum and support pupils as they prepare for independence.
