Charity begins at SV….

03 May 2019

At the end of last term, the students were given a thought-provoking opportunity to be charitable. We often use mufti days or charity events as a vehicle to promote giving. On this occasion, the challenge was to give selflessly, without reward or recognition, with a true spirit of generosity and charity.

The students donated to disaster relief in Mozambique and the surrounding areas. In Chapel, over the last couple of weeks, we have talked about sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked and feeding the hungry. Therefore, I felt that this was a fitting and important cause to support. The money is still coming in, but so far the total raised is just over £700. This is more than the last mufti day and demonstrates that the pupil body has real empathy with those in need.

School Chaplain
