Preparatory School

Headmaster and pupils

A positive and fulfilling learning environment awaits your child at Sutton Valence Preparatory School.  Equipping them with the skills necessary for the next stage of their educational journey, we will provide the support and encouragement to allow them to develop as confident and active members of our community. They will have access to a wide range of opportunities to develop their strengths both inside the classroom and beyond. We must produce young citizens who are articulate, confident and ready to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

From the start, your child will lay down strong foundations in numeracy and literacy, as well as developing social bonds and the ability to interact effectively with others around them.  As they grow, they will encounter a wider range of subjects.  All the time, your child will be developing their knowledge and becoming more independent as a learner.

However, this is only one aspect of a broad and balanced education. We provide many opportunities to acquire new and exciting skills outside of the academic classroom which enable children to appreciate the confidence and enjoyment that successes in sport, music, drama, the arts and outdoor pursuits can bring.

What is the most important thing of all? When you come to visit us you should be able to see all members of the school community smiling, busy and productive, and taking full advantage of the opportunities that are provided. Friendship and a shared sense of purpose are reflected in a mutual respect between everyone, young or old.

This is what we believe makes a happy and successful school, and we look forward to welcoming you so that you can see this for yourself.
