A Level 2022

Sutton Valence School was delighted to announce another excellent set of A Level results. In 2022, 74 per cent of all grades achieved by our students were A* to B, with a flawless pass rate of 100 per cent. Over one in four of the 2022 cohort of students achieved three or more A* and A grades.

Once again, 100 per cent of our students who completed the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) passed, with 81 per cent achieving A* to A grades. Recognised by universities as providing students with essential skills, the EPQ is a self-motivated project that requires detailed planning and independent research and aids students to stand out in the UCAS application process.

Value Added

On average, our students will gain results at A Level that out-perform their predicted grade on entry to the School by 0.5 of a grade. As measured by Durham University Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring, which has a 30-year history of computing these statistics.

Our flexible curriculum gives students in the early years the opportunity to experience a broad range of academic subjects. This helps them to make informed choices when they come to make decisions about GCSE courses. Class sizes are small, with an overall student:staff ratio of 9:1, which enables our students to benefit from the close guidance and individual attention of their teachers.
