Year 4 spent a very exciting and challenging day at the Senior School last week. The groups learnt all about Mr Carr’s (Head of Juniors) family history and they were astonished that eight million Bourbon biscuits are made in one day and that a biscuit can travel up to two and a half miles around one factory. All the children left the session very hungry but luckily, they were able to feast on a tasty barbecue in the sunshine!
Visiting the Design Technology department was an amazing opportunity, as they melted metal and cut plastic into key rings and made a 3D shape with the new printer. Another session was learning how to greet people in German and mastering how to write a very tricky Ancient Greek alphabet.
Finally, the day ended with CCF sessions. The children marched, shot targets, worked as a team, climbed over and under obstacles and navigated their way around the site.
Mr Carr and his team did an outstanding job of making the Year 4s feel welcome and everyone went home with heads full of facts and exhausted bodies!
