Suttonian is appointed Lord-Lieutenant's Cadet

28 September 2018

Lord-Lieutenant, Lord De L’Isle appointed his cadets for the year this week.  We are delighted that Cadet Petty Officer Richard Sawyer has been chosen – this is a prestigious honour and very well-deserved.  Richard is head of the CCF Navy section and an exemplary role model to his fellow cadets, captaining the dinghy team in national competitions and assisting with the planning and delivery of the Navy specification.

The Lord-Lieutenant’s cadets are drawn from the Sea Cadets, Army Cadet Force, Marine Cadets, Air Training Corps and the CCF. The appointment is recognised as one of the highest honours a cadet can achieve. When on duty, Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets wear a distinctive badge of their appointment to denote their role. They assist the Lord-Lieutenant as required, often on parade for royal visits and act as ambassadors for their organisations and the young people of the region.

We wish Richard the best of luck in the coming year when performing his official duties.
