1D pupils have been thinking about learning how to praise themselves. We discussed questions such as; What have I done to feel proud of myself? What achievements have I made? What am I good at? At times, it is very easy to compliment and be proud of our family and friends, but not so easy to think the same of ourselves. It can be anything from trying a new food, to swimming five metres or learning to spell a new word. We must remind ourselves that little, or not so little, achievements every day are big milestones towards embracing a positive and confident self-belief. If things do not go the way we want, it is OK to make mistakes, they make us who we are and we learn from them. Go on; ask yourself, What have you been awesome at today?
