Enrichment Introduction

At Sutton Valence School our activities programme supplements academic work and provides breadth in students’ educational experience. It also offers the opportunity to achieve excellence in many areas.Sutton Valence Director of Co-Curricular Activities David Sansom

We are proud of our holistic approach to the education and development of young people and expect all our students to show commitment to this area of School life. The range of the co-curricular programme at Sutton Valence School provides at least two opportunities for students to engage and enjoy these experiences and associated challenges.

Within the programme there are many openings for personal development, the furtherance of skills and aptitudes and the chance to develop leadership and team-building experiences. The emphasis is on opportunity and variety. Participation and an appetite for challenge on the part of the student is key in providing a breadth of experience and engendering the notion of service.

The School offers a large number of off-site visits in any one academic year. Recent visits have included a Chapel Choir trip to Germany, a Sports tour to South Africa, a trekking and camping expedition to Morocco, a ski trip to Italy, a Spanish exchange visit to Southern Spain and a visit to the Neeja Modi School in Jaipur, Rajasthan in India.  We also operate an exchange programme with Morgan Park Academy in Chicago; this is open to students in Third Form. The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme has many expeditions taking place between Easter and October and the Combined Cadet Force organises adventurous training and summer camps in various locations in this country.  They organise a biennial CCF trip to Belize. We also have many one day visits of a more curricular nature.
