The Chaplaincy is the spiritual heart of School life, augmenting the pastoral system that is already in place for the pupils via the House system, and provides weekly Christian worship in the School Chapel. As a Christian foundation, the School places great value on the moral framework and ethos that Christianity provides.
The School Chaplain, Mr Gwyn Davies, leads a lay-Chaplaincy team made up of members of staff who volunteer their time towards developing the spiritual aspect of the School community. It is a place of succour away from the more demanding aspects of School life and the Chaplain is available for pastoral support for anyone in the School community, regardless of their faith position or worldview. For those who would like to develop their understanding of the Christian faith, Confirmation Classes are held throughout the year leading up to an annual Confirmation Service in June, at which the Bishop of Dover officiates. Chapel takes place for all of the community every Monday morning and is used to reinforce our Christian principles and to enjoy the beauty of ritual and music in marking the Christian year.
The School is part of the United Westminster Schools Foundation and as such has close ties with Westminster Abbey.
