In partnership with Maidstone and Medway Athletics Club, we have our own all weather athletics and track facility on site.
In order to make the most of this outstanding facility, every student has access during their timetabled PE lessons; this allows maximum usage and yet also enables us to flourish the traditional major sports of the Summer Term.
Access to the track is also possible through our enrichment programme and we have a thriving Athletics club. We train for our own annual Foundation Athletics meet, competing against other Schools in our Foundation, as well as our own inter-house sports day. Both these events being fiercely contested.
We aim to nurture and develop the core skills of all our pupils. Athletics teach self-discipline, perseverance, and endurance and we actively encourage pupils to participate and investigate the range of disciplines which they can pursue.
During the Athletics lessons the children will cover the whole range of traditional athletic disciplines and, as they get older, can look to specialise in an event or events in which they excel, which often leads to county representation and beyond.
Pupils wishing to extend their athletic prowess can join the Medway and Maidstone Athletics Club, who train on-site two days a week.
