From The Head
The values of our School community and the happiness of our children are central to everything we do. These provide pupils with a strong feeling of structure and security which enables them to work effectively.
At whichever point children join us they embark on their own journeys, each one different and each one with differing emphasis on the four areas we hold dear: Academic, Co-curricular, Community and Leadership and Service.
By the time they leave us at the age of 11, it is our responsibility to have equipped the children during their formative years with the essentials of character to thrive in an increasingly competitive world. To put firmly in place the qualities which will make them clear thinking, lateral thinking, robust, hardworking, determined and yet kindly citizens, who will go on to influence many people in the coming years.
We have high expectations of ourselves and of our children, both inside and out of the classroom, and we have a long history of successful preparation of children for the next stage of their education, be that for our Senior School, the Kent grammars, or other schools.
None of this should come at the expense of childhood and what this School does so successfully is find that balance between delivering in terms of education, and yet doing so kindly and with many broad, interesting and high-quality opportunities. The School is very proud of its articulate and confident pupils who move on well-equipped to work things out for themselves, so crucial in an increasingly challenging world.
Positioned in glorious countryside, we are fortunate to have the facilities you would expect and more, but a school is, however, more about its people; we look forward to welcoming you warmly, whatever your reason for visiting us.
