Trips out of School are often the highlight of the term for our pupils! Whether it be to the local seaside to enjoy an ice-cream or further afield traveling up to London to visit the Natural History Museum. These are important learning opportunities that we use to springboard our new topics.
Our trips are carefully chosen to maximise the best learning opportunities, whether they be at the start of a topic, to help develop imagination or mid-way through a topic where they help with non-fiction writing. The trips all have one thing in common, an adventure out of School, with our friends!
For our Nursery and Reception pupils, particularly early on in their time with us, a trip may be a little daunting, especially when trying to familiarise yourself with the new surroundings. Teachers, therefore, set up days where pupils can have a focused day, learning a new skill and asking experts questions. During a year in Reception they may experience workshops on the circus, the jungle and might even have a fairy tale ball! All of which involve lots of decisions and dressing up!
The Pre-Prep team try to ensure pupils come together throughout the year, and so just one of our events, the annual Barn Dance, is a big hit amongst pupils and teachers alike. These opportunities keep the family spirit alive; it is lovely to see older siblings looking after their younger brother or sister and Year 2 children taking care of the younger ones.
